A Fixed, Lifelike Replacement
Dental Implants
Our dental team at Inverness Dental Clinic is experienced in restoring missing teeth with implants. An implant acts as a replacement for the root of your missing tooth, providing a strong foundation for a crown (the visible tooth above the gum line). Implants can be used to replace single or multiple teeth.
Our clinicians always strive to save your natural tooth, but sometimes removal is necessary. If a gap is not filled with an implant, the following issues may arise:
-
Teeth on either side of the gap can “drift” into the space left by the missing tooth.
-
This drifting can affect the rest of your mouth, including your bite and appearance.
-
Remaining teeth may become overworked, leading to fractures.
-
The bone where the tooth is missing can erode.
-
Speech may be affected.

FAQ
Dental Implant FAQs
We can't promise that implants will last a lifetime since they can face similar issues as natural teeth, such as gum disease and fractures. However, with proper oral care, they have one of the highest success rates in dentistry.
Having insufficient bone doesn't necessarily mean you can't get an implant. Bone grafting procedures can be performed to rebuild the bone, making it possible to place an implant.
The best solution varies for each patient, but implants are often the top choice for replacing missing teeth due to their numerous advantages.
In certain cases, implants can be placed immediately after tooth extraction. However, if there was an infection, we might need to wait for it to heal first. Additionally, we might need to allow time for the bone to bond with the implant before placing the final crown.
